"Heya Girls!"
The whole city is in a design fever! A vast number of appointments are on standby at the time the Vienna design week, Austria’s biggest design festival spreads over the city, starting next Friday. This means: 10 days of events, 100 events, exhibitions, guided tours, design safaris and workshops. You can be a part of the workshop offered at feinedinge and make something beautiful out of porcelain. A pop up store for design shoes by Reinhard Plank opens in KunstHaus Wien. The festival headquarter is placed on a very special place this year: in the palace Schwarzenberg that was closed since ages! The beautiful park and the palace are not open to public for a long time, now you have the opportunity to visit the festival’s info desk, the pop up cafe and the exhibitions in the orangery, the furniture room and in the prince suites. So that you can rest your from the hiking-day-tired feet.

Book Flea Market
A place where you find many many books – this is the place to go! Meaning: today to the MUSA, which will organise a big flea market for books in cooperation with the Vienna City Library. You can browse through books as good as new from the equipment of MA 7, the Department for Cultural Affairs in Vienna. These books on graphic arts, film, cinema, literature and science can be acquired in exchange for a donation. Good cause: the net income was donated to a certain project every year. Which project is supported by this year’s donation? It will benefit the art academy in Gyumri (Armenia) and will support the local artists.
MUSA, Felderstraße 6-8, 1010 Vienna. 25 September 11:00 to 20:00, 26 September 11:00 to 18:00. Web

Amanda Rheaume
Romance at the campfire and a music played by guitar – exactly this feeling arouses today thanks to Amanda Rheaume’s performance in the Haus der Musik. Taking her new album “Keep a fire” with her the folk singer came with her band to Vienna and wants to take the listeners on a time-travel journey to Canada in the 18 century. She tells us family stories with her gentle voice about her ancestors, the trappers and the colonizers as they came among the natives. A trio with short and magic stories and a cool front woman apart from the mainstream. Listen here.

In a few years time Doris Uhlich made her way through as one of the most prestigious choreographs in Austria. Doris Uhlich shows her new performance “Universal dancer” as a season-opening act in brut. I am, I want, I make
Wishes and want-to-do’s instead of should-do’s and must-do’s! It was never the case before that there was such a big opportunity to create an economy for both gender. That’s why Elisabeth
Samhaber and Sonja Zant start a three-part career seminar for women. They ignore the traditional authority formula and they go for innovation with their own handwriting. The focus in the three building-blocks workshop is on demands, needs and on individual entities. Based on their talents and passions the women start their way to themselves and their career aims.

The Room
The Sofiensäle are resurrected. After a fire and years of vacantness the former clubbing palace has been renovated and now there are flats, a hotel and a restaurant situated. „The Room“ is so big that (so far) it only gets full on the evening. The athmosphere is classic-chic – the hand painted paving tiles are from Marrakesh, the shiners originate from young designers from Seattel – and the kitchen is classic-chic. Everything tastes good – starting from the breakfast (original: Green Room!) to the Chilli which is served after midnight. The Room is opened 7 days a week almost round the clock! Very practical!
The Room, Marxergasse 17, 1030 Vienna. Mon – Sun 8:00 till 4:00. Web
